Sequoia is a mediator-attorney practicing in the New York area. Sequoia has dedicated his practice to the non-adversarial resolution of conflict and specializes in divorce mediation, workplace/employment mediation and conflict consulting. As a recognized expert in these areas, he regularly provides mediation training courses to both new and experienced mediators. Sequoia founded New York Mediation Partners to meet the need for quality mediation services as an alternative to the traditional adversary system.
In addition to his role as principal of New York Mediation Partners, Sequoia is also the Director of Conflict Resolution Services at New York Center for Interpersonal Development, the court designated mediation center for Richmond County. In this role, he oversees all of the Center's mediation programs and trainings with a yearly caseload of approximately 800 cases. Specific mediation types include custody/visitation, civil and small claims, landlord-tenant, special education, workplace/employment, misdemeanor criminal cases, and others.
Sequoia is the Vice President of the Family and Divorce Mediation Council of Greater New York and sits on the Continuing Legal Education Committee of The Center for Mediation in Law. He is a member of the Association for Conflict Resolution, the New York State Dispute Resolution Association and the Dispute Resolution Section of the New York State Bar Association.
Sequoia received a law degree from Emory University, as well as a B.A. in philosophy from St. John's College. Prior to becoming a mediator, Sequoia worked for Credit Suisse, a multinational investment bank.
